Book Description: Berlin. Max Marcus, Bookseller. n.d. (circa 1885)., 1885. Illustrated with one very large coloured folding map. 68 pgs. 12mo (6″ x 4.5″). Bound in gilt titled red cloth. Wonderful and scarce example of Marcus’ attempt to duplicate the Baedeckers Guides. An effort which eventually led to Bankruptcy and prison. Covers somewhat soiled with some minor staining to front cover. Lack of continuity to endsheets at front and rear hinges. Map presents three marginal tears two of which extend 1/2 inch into image.
